Best Buy to sell iPhone 3G for $150

Jan 6 2009, Wal-Mart start selling iPhone 3G starting Dec. 28 as reported by Yahoo just in last week of December.According to Yahoo Tech news Wal-mart offered black 8GB iPhone 3G model for US$197, and the 16GB black or white model for $297.

Today Electronic Retailer Best Buy announced that they are selling Refurbished versions of Apple Inc’s iPhone 3G at its stores that are priced about $50 less than new iPhones, which would cost $149.Best Buy informed that they are selling Refurbished iPhones which were returned within 30 days of purchase, are priced at $149 for the model with 8 gigabytes of storage, while the 16-gigabyte version is $249.New iPhone 3Gs currently sell for $199 and $299 at Best Buy Mobile stores.

“This is focusing on customers’ needs, trying to provide as wide a range of products and networks for our consumers,” said Scott Moore, vice president of marketing for Best Buy..Buyers of first-generation iPhones can also upgrade to the faster refurbished 3G models at Best Buy, he said.According to news on Moore said AT&T, the exclusive wireless provider for the iPhone, offers refurbished iPhones online.The sale of used iPhones comes as Best Buy, the top consumer electronics chain, seeks ways to fend off increased competition from discounters such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc, which began selling the popular phone late last month.

Looks like compettion for selling iphones is heating up between Retailers which is really good news for consumers.I wouldn’t be surprised if in coming weeks i hear some another announcement from Wal-Mart,Circut City or Best Buy that they start selling iPhone 3G for $99.As you may recall not too long ago engadget reported rumor on iPhone to launch special edition 4GB iphone 3G at Walmart retail stores. Stay tuned i don’t see it would take more time when you really here from some retailer that they start selling iPhone 3G for $99, i can’t comment if that would be refurbished or special edition 4GB iphone 3G
